I am working in a publisher document that requires fractions other than 1/4; 1/2 or 3/4. Is there a macro to allow me to insert other fractions in my document?

    I recently created an Excel macro that creates AutoCorrect entries for all ˣ⁄₂, ˣ⁄₄, ˣ⁄₈, ˣ⁄₁₆, ˣ⁄₃₂ and ˣ⁄₆₄ fractions from ¹⁄₆₄ to ⁶³⁄₆₄. Once created in Excel, they will be available to all Office programs.

    You can find a copy of the sample workbook with that macro, the helper UDF and an automated removal macro from my SkyDrive here:

    You can find a few more choices if you go to...Insert / Symbol...

    and open the Subset drop window and choose Number Forms.

    Jeeped, this is perfect.  I'm fairly unfamiliar with using macros in Excel.  If you would allow me to use this macro, could you explain how I can 'install' it into some of my spreadsheets?

    Hello Curtis;

    This reply was so well received that I turned it into a local Wiki article.

    Styled Fractions in Windows

    The article expands on how things are accomplished and how to run the macro to create AutoCorrect entries for any denominator. Once the AutoCorrect entries are created they are available in any Office document or workbook . There are also inctruction on how to remove the AutoCorrect entries.

    If you have trouble post back here or as a comment in the Wiki article and I will try to fill in the blanks.

    Office 2010 does not have the "Subset" shown in the tinypic link.  Please clarify this on *this* page.

    Even better, create an answer for previous versions.  This would be extremely helpful!  Thanks.
