Exchange Recover mode on the same machine?

Can I run the Recover Mode on the same machine I have my not-working exchange installed ?

I have managed to get my exchange server to a point where fixing the issues would take more time than just "reinstalling it". But from what I've found, there is no "reinstall" when it comes to exchange. Only recover mode.

So what I want to ask is: Can I reinstall / Recover my exchange on the same server as it stopped working on ? The data preservation is needed.

    Yes, you can. I would wipe the operating system however and keep the Exchange databases or move them off and copy back.
