Outlook Office Home and Business 2016 does not save categories in messages

Sometimes when I change the category of a mail message, in its own windows, appears a message: "não é possível executa a operação porque a mensagem foi alterada".
Then I try to close the window with the opened mail message, and another message popups: "deseja salvar as alterações". As I want save the changes, then I say "SIM" [yes].
After selecting SIM, another window prompts "Não é possível salvar o item porque ele foi alterado por outro usuário ou em outra janela. Deseja fazer uma cópia na pasta padrão do item?".
I have just 2 options here:

  • 'SIM", that means [yes], and a copy of the message will be saved in the same folder of the original message, with the assigned category; or
  • "Não", that means [no], and I will loose my category change, and message will remain unchanged.

What is happening here?

MS Office suite has been uninstalled and re-installed, and nothing changed!

    Hi @Ruben Siegrist ,

    In order to better identify the problem, please provide the following information:

    • What's the version of your Outlook 2016 ? (File > Office Account > About Outlook). Please make sure you have upgraded your Outlook to the latest version.
    • Does the issue occur only in specific account? If you use other types of account testing, such as Exchange, will the problem arise?
    • Does this issue occur in some specific emails? And are these emails opened of your account or of some shared mailbox?

    Through my research, considering the impact of some add ins, It is suggested that you could try to start outlook in safe mode(win+R>type: outlook /safe) to check whether it works normally.
