We are planning to use the Form Processing AI model inside Power Automate >> now most of our users have E3 office 365 license, where they will be uploading documents to a SharePoint document library >> and then a Power Automate cloud flow will process the uploaded documents and extract the info and send them back to SharePoint.

But my question is: If the AI form processing capabilities are provided as part of the Office 365 licenses? OR do we need to pay extra licenses or fees to be able to use the form Processing AI model?

    Hi @john john ,

AI Builder is licensed on a capacity basis. AI Builder capacity is expressed in the form of “service credits”. Service credits serve as the single (common) currency across all the scenarios supported by AI Builder. Available service credits are deducted when AI Builder services are used. Different scenarios (for example, forms processing, prediction, etc.) burn down service credits at different rates.

Indeed, 1 AI Builder add-on gives you 1 million AI Builder Credits.

AI Builder credits are pooled at the tenant level and then you can assign the credits to environments. You can assign all the credits to just one environment, or distribute them among multiple environments. More info on how to do this: AI Builder licensing.

You don't have to buy separate AI Builder add-ons for each user. Users will make use of apps and flows and these will consume AI Builder credits that have been allocated to the environment. You can check the consumption of AI Builder credits per environment in the Power Platform Admin Center: AI Builder consumption reporting is now available | Power Automate Blog (microsoft.com).

As long as you have credits in the environment, any number of users can use apps or flows that leverage AI Builder. Just note that you will need to have a license for users to use apps or flows - whether you use AI Builder or not. In the case of Power Apps you will need a per app or per user plan depending on your use case.

Please also take a reference to the following articles about get and manage AI Builder license:

As an conclution and back to your questions:

    1. Yes, the AI form processing capabilities are provided as part of the Office 365 licenses.
    2. It depends on the amount of AI Builder Credits consumed in your environment.
