Creating a 3 way data table and charts

Good morning,

I've been searching for a way to create a table in using 3 variables - by month, by line of business, and by production numbers (see illustration).

I also need to create a bar chart or something comparable, to demonstrate the changes by month and line of business.

I have tried with pivot tables but not getting it right.  Assuming if I can properly construct the 3 way table, the chart should be easy.

Suggestions?

Christina

    Where are the production numbers?

Whatever you do, use a database style:

    Date                   LOB                          Value

    January 2014      Dwelling Fire            xxx

    January 2014      Garage                     yyy

without the cross heads - you can create a report with the cross heads, but it is better to have a full data table.
