I want to create a scatter chart of the attached data plotting pixels on one axis vs. size on the other.

Everything I try doesn't generate the desired chart.

how do I do this?

    Hello!

If you selected the range A1:C5, or had a single cell in your data range selected, and you used Insert Chart to create a scatter chart, you will get the default chart with two series. This is probably not the way that you want your data to look.

You will get the chart that you're expecting by using the Recommended Chartmenu on the Insert tab. Tap on the command Recommended and scroll to see the third option suggested. Tap on the preview labeled 'Scatter' and you'll get the one you want.

Thank you for using Excel for iPad.

Try selecting B1..C5 (from above example) and select insert->charts->X Y (Scatter)

Once the chart is inserted, you can select Chart menu and play around with different layouts.
