Hi,
I am looking into desktop app development and i want to know about which project type to choose
There is Universal Windows Platform (UWP), Win forms, etc. I want to choose the project type which is best like future proof, continuous feature upgrades.
Can someone guide me if the microsoft is not planning to introduce new platform for developing windows apps in near future or taking down UWP and replacing it with something else and also if there is something better than uwp and winform for developing windows apps.
I am currently looking forward to UWP development because the apps can be published on the windows store and the performance over the winform is also good as the internet says.

Windows Forms
Windows Forms
A set of .NET Framework managed libraries for developing graphical user interfaces.

The future seems to be Windows App SDK

    https://github.com/microsoft/WindowsAppSDK

    https://github.com/microsoft/WindowsAppSDK/blob/main/docs/README.md

But I had done some tests and I could not even run an "Hello World" app on my OS (Windows 10, 1909) with VS 2019...

There is also MAUI which is a cross-platform framework for creating native mobile and desktop apps with C# and XAML. Using .NET MAUI, you can develop apps that can run on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows from a single shared code-base.
