Power Query | Get Data from CSV | Live Connection

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to establish a live connection between two excel sheets? I am preparing a report which is getting data from SQL Server, transforming it before loading it into Excel Sheet. I want to add another data source, a CSV file, such that changing the data in the CSV file will either automatically update the report or update it when refreshed in the Data tab. Currently, getting data from Excel imports all the data in the workbook instead of establishing a connection or reference.

I read your post several times and things are not clear enough to say YES you can do that. Could you please try to explain this again, upload a couple of pictures to clarify things...

Things that are really unclear to me is what you mean with:

establish a live connection between two excel sheets

such that changing the data in the CSV file will either automatically update the report or update it when refreshed in the Data tab

Are you perhaps looking for a way to reference the SQL query directly from within PQ, without referencing the SQL data loaded to the Excel worksheet? If so, see the "Referencing a query" section of this page.
