We have re-indexed. she has access to all folder's as she is the site admin. she opens a folder and types a file that we can see and gets no results.

    Hi @Greg Laird ,

I have something to confirm with you.

    1. The version of SharePoint, SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server?
    2. How did she perform the search? Search by file name or metadata or anything else?
    3. If you are in SharePoint Server environment, did you perform a full crawl after re-indexed? If you are in SharePoint Online, you may need to wait for several hours even up to one day after re-indexed until the crawl is performed in the backend.
    4. Did any error message appear after searching? Or just "couldn't find any results" prompts?
    5. What is the scope of files cannot return search results? A specific file or all files in that library?
    6. Do this issue happen in other libraries?
    7. Go to Library settings -> Advanced settings -> Make sure that Allow items from this document library to appear in search results? is set to Yes.

Please also take a reference to below articles to help you troubleshoot.
