Inserting Animation

I use Publisher 2010 to publish a newsletter for my organization.  I would love to insert animated gif's, but am unable to do so.  Even if I try to insert from Microsoft art itself, it still has no movement.  I would also like to import other animation as well.  Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated.

As I suggested above, the only way I know of to use animated GIF files in Publisher is to insert it into a Publisher web page.

As you found out a PDF does not support an animated GIF and from my testing the GIF is 'flattened' when the newsletter is sent as a html formatted email message via Outlook.

How are you distributing your newsletter?  In what format? An HTML formatted webpage will support .gif files. Do you have webspace where you could post your web formatted newsletter?

Thanks for your input, David.  I create the newsletter in Publisher, and I can't insert animation.  I realized that I then send it as a PDF, which I know won't support the animation.  I would still like to be able to use animation in Publisher if I could for other purposes.
