Very low sound on Windows 10 - Loudness Equalization missing

Question

Hello,

Recently, when listening to certain sounds, I have realized that, for some reason, the computer plays these sounds in a much lower volume than originally intended.

 

Even though in this particular example, it isn't too noticeable, almost everything I hear from this laptop has its volumed almost halved for no reason. 

Looking through forums and other questions, I found out that if you go to Sounds -> Speakers -> Properties ->Enhancements Tab. you can check a box called "Loudness Equalization" which apparently solves the issue. However...  

In this case, there is no box for me to tick. Another solution was to apparently download new drivers or something, but it won't give me any options, either:

  

And because all other options normally contain drivers from Realtek, and these are different, I have no clue as to what to do anymore. What can I do to solve the issue? Until now, I haven't downloaded or uninstalled anything related to this issue.

Try with the Troubleshoot Sound Problems

In the task bar, right click on the Sound icon

in the Window that appears select Troubleshoot Sound Problems

Run that troubleshooter to see if it resolves this problem

Update!

 

After running the Troubleshoot, it asked me to reinstall the current drivers and restart the computer. I did this, but it didn't solve the issue at all. Then, it asked me to use the Microsoft HD Audio Drivers, and this did some things: 

 

Not only are both audio channels at the same level now, but the gray area also was able to reach 100% using the Test feature behind Sounds -> Headphones Properties ->Advanced Tab

I think that was everything I had to do. I'm not sure why these Conexant drivers have such a low volume by default when the Microsoft ones work better... But the issue is fixed! Super thanks to you, Wilfredo Soto, and I hope you have a nice day too!

Hello Wilfredo! 

The Troubleshoot Sound Problems option seemed to do the trick at first. It asked me to test a sound to check if it sounded better or not. After a restart (I clicked to reinstall the drivers as the option was given to me) the sound worked fine this time, without halving the volume at all! However, the volume problem still persisted with headphones on, so now I'm not sure if it's actually a problem with the headphones themselves (It would be weird, since the audio mixer DOES recognize that the volume is lower than usual.)

I will take a longer time to run this Troubleshoot again due to time constraints, but I will post again to confirm if this second try improved my audio quality with headphones on. So far, though, this might be the right thing I had to do! It's definitely looking like it.
