Hello,

I have a system on a metered connection and need to install Office Business Premium 2016 on to that computer without the large download size. I do have a computer on a different connection (different location) where I could download the files and carry over and install via usb or cd. How would I be able to achieve this?

Regards,

Robert Heintz

Hi Robert,

According to your description, I suggest you use Office Deployment Tool (ODT) to achieve your goals. Here are the steps:

  1. Download the newly released version of the Office 2016 Deployment Tool.
  2. Edit the configuration.xml file:

<Configuration>

<Add SourcePath="your custom folder path" OfficeClientEdition="32" >

<Product ID="O365BusinessRetail">

<Language ID="en-us" />

</Product>

</Add>

</Configuration>

  1. Download the media:

Open a command window and change the directory to the location of your setup.exe file. Run Setup.exe /download configuration.xml.

  1. After the Office software is downloaded to your network, you can copy the setup package in a USB disk and copy it to another computer, then run the following command to start the installation: Setup.exe /configure configuration.xml.

For your reference:
