Exchange 2016 - Journaling does not work

Hi,

We are running one exchange server in Full hybrid mode with HCW.
All mailboxes are still On-Prem and only EOP is actually used.
Journaling is configured On-Prem Exchange Server at mailbox database level.

When a mail is send from On-Prem Server, journaling is working normal.
When the mail is received from "outside" (EOP), the mail is delivered to the user mailbox, but it is not getting journaled.

Does anyone know why this happens or how to debug this problem?

Regards

ExO wont know anything about the databases, but I would create a group ( or even a dynamic group)
of those users in that specific domain, and filter on that

Maybe something like this if you want to make dynamic:

I have multiple domains with mailboxes, where i only want to journal mailboxes with one specific FQDN.
For that, i have 2 mailbox databases, where only for one is configured journaling.
So i need a EXO journaling rule, which will hit only this specific domain.

Any idea how to do this?

    Thank you for your answer!
I thought this would be something like his, but could not find it.

    This raises another problem.
I can select only one recpient for "If the message is sent to or received from..." and not a filter for Company or something.

Do i really have to configure for each recipient and mail enabled group a journaling rule, or is there a better approach?????
