I am unable to change to win 11 beta channel from dev channel.

I am currently in the win 11 dev channel and I heard about the beta channel release of win 11. I also heard that it is easy for people to change from dev channel to beta channel right now but after I selected the beta channel and rebooted my system, no new updates were found. I tried this process three times. I am really stuck as I do not want to fresh install win 10 by erasing my entire data.

    Hi @Adithyakrishna Arunkumar ,

    please take a look here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-insider/flighting#switching-from-the-dev-channel

    It's an explanation how to switch and what will happen:

    • if you switch from lower or equal version/build in dev channel compared to beta channel
    • if you switch from higher version/build in dev channel compared to beta channel

    ----------

    I wiped a Latitude 3310 and installed Windows 10 education 64 bit this morning and joined it to the beta channel. How long does it usually take before the update shows up? 24 hours?

    Hello,

    If you already had Windows 11 build 22000.100 from Dev channel and then you switched to Beta channel, you're on right track! There will be no updates in Beta atm, because no new builds have been released in that channel. In short, atm Dev and Beta channel have latest build 22000.100, that is why you're not seeing any new updates.

    Rest assured, if new builds are released on Beta channel, they will be offered to you.

    Hope this helps!

    @Adithyakrishna Arunkumar
    Hi,

    It is normal that no new updates are found, because Microsoft has released the first beta of Windows 11.
    If you are in the Dev Channel, now would be the right time to consider switching to the Beta Channel if you want to stay on more stabilized builds of Windows 11.
    https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/07/22/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22000-100/

    However, any bugs or issues found in the Dev Channel are hopefully fixed, leading to a much smoother experience.

    Hope above information can help you.
