Hi,
While adding a sixth mailbox server in a exchange 2013 DAG we are getting following error. The difference with the other nodes in that this one is a VM and others are Physical server. Any Advise please?
A server-side database availability group administrative operation failed. Error The operation failed. CreateCluster errors may result from incorrectly configured static addresses. Error: An error occurred while attempting a cluster operation. Error: Cluster API failed: "AddClusterNode() (MaxPercentage=100) failed with 0x5b4. Error: This operation returned because the timeout period expired". <Srever Name>.

While creating DAG, we creates a Cluster Name Object (CNO) in active directory. Check, if the CNO object is disabled and correct permissions are added to the object. Refresh the DAG, using the following cmdlet (do a refresh using without any parameters). And try adding again.
Set-databaseavailabilitygroup
Note: I assume that, you are using same OS version, type etc. in two servers

Apart from what ManuPhilip mentioned above, please check if your VM has met the requirements of high availability and site resilience, compared with other servers.
By the way, remember to disable firewall and turn off the AV programs, if necessary, remove the AV from your complete cluster.
