Printing in actual size
Hi:
I m making a custom back a cover for CDs. It is actually 3-text boxes laid together. The middle is the big box for listing, etc. Each of the other two, on either side of the middle big box, are the narrow "wings" with sideways printing for the cd title. In Word, at 100%, the whole thing is the exact size it needs to be. But, when I print, even when adjusting the size on the print page, the whole thing is either to wide or not wide enough. How do I make it print "actual" sizw?
Thank you,
Mac

Doug Robbins - MVP - Office Apps and Services 321.9K Reputation points MVP Volunteer Moderator2019-08-10T22:08:15+00:00 The content of the document consisted of three textboxes, which, to achieve the required layout should have been butted up against one another, with the central text box having a with of 5.375" and the two outer text boxes having a width of 0.25".
In reality, while the width of the left textbox was 0.25", the width of the central textbox was 5.25" instead of the required 5.375" and the width of the right textbox was 0.2". Further, there was an overlap between the central textbox and the right textbox.
After resizing the central text box and the right textbox to the required dimensions and then using the Shape Format>Position dialog to set the horizontal positions so that the text boxes were butted up to each other, there was then only a very minor discrepancy between the dimensions of the printed result and the requirements, which is probably due to the characteristics of the particular printer and can easily by rectified by making the necessary adjustment to the width of the central textbox via the Shape Format facility.

2019-08-09T22:48:37+00:00 Hi:
Thanks for the reply. The only templates I find on the link you gave me is for the front cover. I can do a front cover easily. I don't find anything for a back cover with the "wings" for the narrow side labels. When I open Word and click New and enter; cd case, inserts, covers, or any variations, word responds with "Can't find any Word templates that matched what you were looking for".
