Office 2016 installation using ODT - Error Code 30088-1021

Hello,

I try to install

• Office 2016, 32 bit (single user licence)
• on a virtual machine (Oracle Virtual Box)
• with Windows 7 SP 1 (incl. latest updates)
• which runs in a Windows 10 host system
• using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) in order to exclude some programs from installation.

The used configuration.XML looks like this:

The command used is

C:\Setups\Installiert\Office_Install\Deployment-Tool\Setup.exe /configure configuration.XML

started from a command prompt window (cmd.exe).

The used ODT setup file is the latest offered for download (Version 16.0.11306.33602 from 07.01.2019)

The Office 2016 DVD has been copied to the SSD (drive C:) in order to increase installation speed (see SourcePath).

Note: All licences (host OS, VM OS, Office 2016) are single user licences on a notebook used by one person. I don't want to share the installation in a network.

The reason why I'd like to install Office 2016 on a VM instead the host system is that I have Office 2003 installed on the Windows 10 host which I use quite more often than Office 2016. Both versions on one OS turned out to be not compatible.

(By the way: The installation of Office 2016 on the Windows 10 host using the same ODT command worked fine but - as I said - afterwards Office 2003 had several problems to run.)

When starting the command given above I get immediately the following error message:

"Couldn't install

We're sorry, we had a problem installing your Office program(s).

Is your internet connection working? Do you have enough free Space on your main hard drive?

Please try installing again after you've checked the above.

Go online for additional help.

Error Code: 30088-1021 (0)"

Of course the internet connection is available and there are some 31 GB of free disk space.

What do I have to do to make the installation run? I guess it has something to do with the VM....
