onedrive can't sync right now. please try again later.

Question

Onedrive sync was working fine and then suddenly stopped working yesterday.

I have unliked, relinked my account

made sure that office is up to date

restarted/shut down multiple times

what isn't working?

I'm having the same problem.  Restarting and resetting did not work.  Need an answer.

that works fine and i can see the files that were synced through yesterday.  I have been trying to back up my whole pc was about 450/600 GB through when it stopped.

white x on a red circle in the icon

when i click on the icon

one drive needs your attention in orange at the top

one drive can't sync now.  please try again later

when i hover over the icon, it says that onedrive can't transfer files right now

when i try to go to the onedrive folder in file explorer, it says that i am already connected to my account when i try to add an account but I can't select any folders for syncing.

it has been happening for about 24 hours now.  my internet connection is fine

Hi Jason.

I tried that and the onedrive icon didn't come back up so i manually tried to restart it.  that also didn't work.  Then I did another restart and it didn't work.  Do you have any other ideas?

Try this:
Press the Windows key + R
Enter this text into the Run window and press Enter:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

That will reset OneDrive
After a couple of minutes, the OneDrive cloud icon should show in the system tray.

If it doesn’t start, open Start, find OneDrive and start it
