Hello Netanel Roemy,
Thank you for sharing your concern here in Microsoft Community Forum and we hope that all is well.
It appears that you are getting an error message in your Excel application that says 'Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete OLE action'. Let us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured that we will do our full capability to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.
This error message usually appears when Excel requests to communicate with another application and does not get a response within the required time frame. This error message may be caused by a disabled Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol, a corrupted Office application or too many conflicting add-ins. Some possible solutions are to restart the application, enable the Ignore other applications that use DDE feature and disable all add-ins.
Below are the following troubleshooting steps that will help resolve the issue.
- Repair an Office application.
- Right-click the Start button
(lower-left corner), and select Apps and Features on the pop-up menu. - Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair, and select Modify. **Note:**This will repair the entire Office suite even if it's just one application you want to repair such as Word or Excel. If you have a standalone app installed, then search for that application by name.
- In the window How would you like to repair your Office Programs, select Quick Repair > Repair
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair.
- Start Excel in safe mode.
- If you are on Windows 11 or Windows 10, choose Start > All apps > Windows System > Run. Type Excel /safe in the Run box, and then click OK.
If Excel starts in safe mode, continue with the steps:
- Click File > Options> Add-ins.
- Select COM Add-ins, and click Go.
- Clear all the check boxes in the list, and click OK.
- Close and restart Excel in normal mode (not in safe mode).
If the issue does not occur when you restart Excel in normal mode, start enabling your add-ins one at a time until it does. This will allow you to figure out which add-in is causing the problem. Be sure to restart Excel each time you enable an add-in.
- Enable 'Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).
- Open the Excel sheet and go the Filemenu. In the File menu, click on Options.
- An Excel Options dialog box will appear. Go to the Advancedtab and scroll down to the Generalarea. Over there check Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).
- Restart Excel.
