So as of now i am unable to login into windows on my pc. I also tried running sfc scan but that did not work either and ive tried about every advance reset mode and none of them work/ allowed me to do it. Windows 10 won't start or Startup Repair won't work?

Windows Automatic Repair always keeps looping?

Here are some solutions that you can break an automatic repair loop under Windows 10.

'Preparing for automatic repair' Infinite loop

Automatic Repair is a built-in feature in Windows 10 to deal with some system problems when the computer cannot boot properly. However, in some cases, Automatic Repair may not work and get stuck in the infamous Windows Automatic Repair loop.

Getting stuck in the Preparing Automatic Repair loop is one of the typical symptoms of this problem. In addition to this message, users may get another one - 'PC is being diagnosed', or a blue or black screen with critical errors.

Windows official solution to troubleshoot the 'Preparing Automatic Repair' loop

The official Windows solution for Preparing Automatic Repair is to update or reset the PC directly. This is how the repair works:

At the Preparing Automatic Repair window, press the power button three times to force the computer to shut down. The system will call for repair after the restart. Select Troubleshoot and then proceed to Update your PC or Reset your PC.

You can easily complete the process by following the instructions in the wizard. If the problem persists, it is recommended that you reinstall the operating system.

Aside from the Windows solution, there is another method of breaking the infinite loop.

    • Force restart your computer by removing the battery and the AC adapter. Then plug the power back in and hold the power button for 20 seconds to see if the computer starts normally.

    - Doesn't this method help?

Press F8 repeatedly while the computer starts up. This is how the Windows Boot Options menu appears. Then go to Troubleshoot -> Advanced Options -> Startup Settings. Finally, follow the instructions to enable Safe Mode.

    - Safe mode does not load?

Try turning off automatic repair on startup. Go to Advanced Options again and this time select Command Prompt, enter "bcdedit / set {current} recoveryenabled No" (without the quotes) in the Command Prompt window.

I would be happy to know if I could help.

    Hi Jordan,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor.

Let us try repairing the existing OS.

On a working computer, create an Installation media of Windows 10 that allows you to repair existing Windows Installation.

    Create a USB Flash Drive

Boot from the USB Flash drive-Make sure you have disabled Secure boot/Fast boot in BIOS Settings.

Then open Advanced Startup options after the computer boots from USB. Click Repair your computer at the first screen that says Install now.

Select Startup repair, let it finish the job and see if the computer can boot afterward.

If that doesn't help, consider doing a clean install after rescuing your files.
