Unable to install Teams

Hello, I am having an issue installing Teams and am hoping someone has some insight. I have tried using the Teams MSI and tried installing it from the full Microsoft 365 Productivity suite and it fails to install. I have logged the install from the MSI and the log shows this error

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Configuration, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

In my experience errors similar to this are .NET related so we have tried running the .NET Framework repair tool from http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30135 and it fixed two things. We also ran sfc /scannow from an admin command prompt it found a few issues and fixed them as well. We tried running the install again and it still fails to install.

I have tried researching what System.Configuration is from the error and several posts seem to attribute it to .net issues but I don't think that is it since I ran the repair tool and it did it's job. I have attached the log from the msi installation so maybe that will be of help in case I am overlooking something.

Any thoughts about this are appreciated.

    Do you mean that only Teams cannot be installed even when you install Microsoft 365 Productivity suite?

    Do you try to install other applications and what is the result?

    After reading your log file, I find an error code 1603, which usually happens when you try to install a Windows Installer package. Several reasons may cause this error as below:

    If no luck, as a workaround, please try to download the .exe file to install Teams client by this website.
