Excel's Status Bar not showing/ disappeared / not displaying when opening Excel files - Office 365 & Windows 7/10.

Many users in our organization have reported it today - possibly caused from a recent update?

It shows up if you maximize and minimize the window or close/open the formula bar.

    Hi skarl,

I open my workbook and I can find the status bar no matter the size of it:

To check whether this issue is related to Add-ins, please Start your Office in safe mode to see the outcome. If this issue doesn't happen in safe mode, please click File>Options>Add-ins>To disable Add-ins one by one to check which one caused this case.

If this issue still exists, please share with me more info about this issue:

    1. Screenshot of the detailed current version number of your OS(Click Win+R>type CMD>OK) and Office(File>Account>Product Information e.g. 180x build xxx).

    1. The previous version number of Office that you can find the status bar.
    2. Can you find the status bar after enable the Developer tab? For your reference: Show the Developer tab.

    Regards,

    Neo

    Hi Skarl

I have not had this problem, but try this. Press F11, Ctrl +G, type application.StatusBar = "Hello" Perhaps this will encourage it to display.

I tried to hide it with application.StatusBar.visible = false but that did not work. Otherwise, it just following repair procedures that will come your way.

    Good Luck

I'm having the same issue on multiple computers. I can confirm that starting Excel in Safe Mode does NOT fix the issue. When opening a new or existing workbook, the status bar is not present. Minimizing, then maximizing the windows reveals the status bar. This behavior is new suggesting that it's related to a recent (poorly tested) update.
