What happens when Exchange 2016 Standard evaluation period ends?

So the question is simple, if you have a working Exchange 2016 Standard server that has no license (yet), what will happen once the evaluation period ends? Will it continue to work 100% or not? We have a customer that migrated to Exchange 2016 (from 2010) and is planning to go to Exchange 2019 soon. Do they need to acquire a 2016 license, just for the time being or can we safely ignore these messages and migrate to 2019 within a few weeks/months? We want to make sure the server keeps working as it is doing now.

    Hi @Caspar ,

    Exchange 2016 will keep functioning, the only thing that will happen is there will be a reminder in EAC to enter a licence key. I believe you will be required to get an Exchange 2016 product key first yes, as you cannot upgrade an evaluation of Exchange 2016 to Exchange 2019.
