SQL agnostic pack and SQL 2008 to be installed

We currently have SCOM 2012 that has SQL 2008 and recent SQL agnostic pack installed.

Old pack used for - SQL 2008 - 2016
SQL agnostic pack used for SQL 2017 and 2019, where we disabled discovery for older versions.

Deploying SCOM 2016, looking to move monitoring to this new SCOM infra.

Can we install SQL agnostic pack first and ensure SQL 2012 - SQL 2019 get discovered? then install SQL 2008 pack later.

or should we do vice-versa. could someone suggest please.

@ddevi , Thanks for posting in our Q&A. From your description, it seems we have done the transition to SQL version agnostic MP according to Kevin's blog in current environment:
    https://kevinholman.com/2019/06/12/how-to-transition-to-the-sql-version-agnostic-mp/
Note: Non-Microsoft link, just for the reference.

Now we are migrating to SCOM 2016 and want to know if we can install SQL agnostic pack first. if there's any misunderstanding, please let us know.

Based as I know, if the old management packs are imported after importing the version-agnostic management pack, the monitoring provided by the latter will not be disabled. So we suggest to import the old pack firstly then the version-agnostic management pack which we can override the discovery in the new MP to exclude some SQL server version discovery.

In addition, I notice SQL2008 is already out of lifecycle. maybe we can consider to upgrade to the latest version during this migration period to get more good experience:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/sql-server/end-of-support/sql-server-end-of-life-overview?view=sql-server-ver15

Hope the above information can help. have a nice day!
