It seems to work, even when the target function is not defined yet. What kind of application is it? Is it based on .NET Core or .NET Framework? If possible, you can publish this or another simple project that demonstrates the problem (on OneDrive, GitHub, etc.). Also try fixing the XAML error, which is shown in your image.
