In Google Docs, there is an option for shared files that shows you who has edited the document and when (called revision history). Is there anything similar to this for a Word document that has been placed in a shared OneDrive folder?

    Hi G,

Yes, OneDrive and SharePoint Online both have the Version History where you can see the name of the person who modified the document. But if you shared the files individually in the OneDrive, you can't check the Version History of the shared files from the Shared tab. You need go to the orginal location of the document or file in the OneDrive and check the Version History.

Reference article: View previous versions of Office files.

Apperciate your understanding and stay safe!!

    Thank you for the response.

I found where to access version history, which is very helpful.

However, I still have one question- is it possible to see who has added what to the document? For example, to see who has typed a certain paragraph?

    Hi G,

Glad you cleared about Version History and regarding your second question, it should be possible by using the feature called Track Changesin the Word document but we need to use the Word application to turn on the feature. Refer to this article: Can I use Track Changes in Word Online?.

For Excel, PowerPoint, I am sorry to convey that it's not possible to achieve it but you open the previous version of the file or document to see the content changed by the other users.

Hope the information provided will helps you. Have a good weekend!!

    Best Regards,

    Chitrahaas
