Bitlocker Drive Partition Access Blue Screen

Question

When unencrypting the bitlocker drive, after about three minutes into decryption we get a generalized blue screen.
it is on an old top specs business dell laptop from 2010.
we are currently running the dev version of insiders edition of Win11.
this was a windows 8 machine, we still have software and documentation.

any suggestion to access the old data before we wipe this drive for disposal?

following suggestions in another thread, this issue resolved upon:
resetting the bios settings to default values,
rolling back from inside insiders dev,
clean installing win10,
boot into safe mode.

Easy fix.
