OneDrive Save button and Folders grayed out on iPhone but other clouds are not

Onedrive folders and Save button are grayed out on my iphone when I have tried to "Save to Files" through the Files App. The folders for some reason are showing as read only in the App as well which is quite weird.

However other cloud services such as google drive, dropbox save to iphone and the Save button are not grayed out and completely available to save too.

This was working previously but all of a sudden has stopped for no reason. I am site administrator on this account having full permissions from a microsoft end and have checked the settings in the iphone to allow access to all photos. I have not changed any settings either or read only.

    Hi,

Thanks for sharing your experience in our community.

Per your description, the OneDrive Save button and Folders in iPhone are grayed out, given your scenario, we are trying to test it in OneDrive version 12.19.5, as you can see, when I go to OneDrive and create a new document> it will show the Save page> click Save> Add Storage Account> OneDrive for Business> I can save it to OneDrive without problem.

May I confirm my steps are same as yours? If not, could you please point out and we will further investigate it.

To narrow down it, if you are not using the latest version of OneDrive for iPhone, please go to Apple Store and update it to see the result again.

Meanwhile, to better understand your scenario, could you please provide some information with us?

    1. What’s your OneDrive version? Go to OneDrive> Settings> scroll down to the below and provide the screenshot of version page.
    2. Please provide some screenshots about “OneDrive Save button and Folders grayed out”, if you receive any prompt, better to share with us.
    3. Do all files or just some certain ones cannot save normally? Including a new file?
    4. What do you mean “Save to Files” through the Files App?

We highly appreciate your effort to share the above information with us, we will try our best to help you troubleshoot it. 😊

    Best regards,

    Gloria

I am having the same issue and have been since last week Thursday!!! Three operators have failed to resolve this issue. Update (addressing the issue in its description) has been updated but not fixed the error. All files on read only too

I am also having the same issue. On an IPad Air 3, I can upload files using the One Drive app but from another app, when I choose Save To Files, the Save button and a few folders are grayed out. When I use the Files app, the folders are displaying read only on the bottom.

Using the HP Smart app, until recently I have been able to scan documents on my printer and save them to a folder on One Drive. Now, the folders are read only and I have to save them to a different location and then upload the document using the One Drive app.

    Hi vee & George,

Thanks for your effort to share the same experience here, we did the test again both in iPhone 12.19.5 and iPad 12.19.11, while we can save it normally, to continue troubleshoot it, since you said you have updated it, could you please tell us your current OneDrive version?

Meanwhile, we suggest you go to Settings> find OneDrive> enable Clear Account Settings under RESET and sign in your account again to test it.

Besides, may I know whether other accounts also encounter the same problem? Could you please capture some screenshots about “choose Save To Files, the Save button and a few folders are grayed out” with us?

We highly appreciate your effort to share the above information with us, and we will try our best to help you figure out.😊

    Best regards,

    Gloria
