Hello, I have a link that directs to a document library in a hub site and wanted to turn on the filters pane to all users by default, is that possible?

    Hi Daniel,

Sorry for the late response due to out of office, and I'm afraid I have to tell you that turning on the filter pane for all users by default is not supported currently, but I'd like to suggest you submit your idea in UserVoice, which is the best way to let the relevant team hear your needs, anyone's suggestion could have a chance to be adopted by Microsoft, your understanding and contribution will be highly appreciated: SharePoint UserVoice

    Best Regards,

    Arck

    Hi Dannyneg,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help.

According to your description, I'm afraid I have to tell you that there is no such options to make the filter pane expanded by default is not supported currently.

Based on my test, whether the filter pane is expanded by default depends on the state of each user when the page is last closed.

And if you want to set the filter configuration as default, you can create a new view with customized advanced filter, and set it as the default view, thus all users will see the filtered items by default.

However, the advanced filter will hide all other items that do not meet the criteria and cannot be unhidden through the ordinary filter (the filter in your example screenshot). To show other items, users need to switch to other views that didn't configure advanced filters.

Hope the above information could be helpful, and please feel free to let me know if you have any concerns, I'll continue to help you.

    Best Regards,

    Arck

    Hi Arck,

Thank you for your quick response.

I have already filtered the view but as we have a lot of documents in this library, we wanted to have the filter pane to be turned on by default to help users search using its metadata

Tried the custom PnPsearch webpart too but couldn't get my metadata as a filter. I wish if there is any workaround to turn the pane on by default for list or libraries.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel
