Word Special Formatting Needed for sequentially numbered tickets on Avery Business Card stock.

Question

I need some GUIDENCE with a project I’m trying to do, using “Microsoft Word 2016”.

My project requires printing on “Avery Clean Edge Business Card” stock.

I have prepared the document, designed to fit the format of 10-Card “Avery Clean Edge Business Card” stock.

The finished product will be used like tickets for an event.

What I need help with:

Since the cards are to be used like tickets, I need to be able to print each card with its own unique individual number in ascending order. For Example, #1500 to #2000

PROBLEM HERE IS: I don’t know how to get this done.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Doug, Thank You for your offer to help, Lord knows I need some. I would willingly send you a copy of the mail merge main document and the data source. Problem is I have NOT created a mail merge file to send. I tried to follow the guidelines suggested in the article by Graham Mayor and am HOPELESSLY LOST.

Starting over for clarity with an explanation of my project. Using a WORD built-in template by Avery "8871" I have designed business size cards which will be used like tickets. This use requires that each card have its own unique number.

Since the cards are already designed and ready for printing, I need to be able to add the number to each card as a function of the printing process.

However, following Graham Mayor's article, the suggested ad-ins mentioned DO NOT appear in the ribbon, therefore I'm lost.

I went to the suggested web site, and followed the procedure, however, never saw any change to the ribbon or the opportunity to "create" shown under the "Tab Mailings". I am using Word 2016, but nothing matches what Graham Mayor shows in his article.

The only success I have had with this is creating more frustration.
