"Save as Picture" saves images in low resolution Word 365

Question

After updating to Word 365 "Save as Picture" saves images from word document to disk in low resolution. And I don't know how to change it. I had no such problem in previous version of Word.

And we read your description, and we found that you have set the resolution in Word, however, when you inserted the picture into Word and saved it as picture again, the resolution will be 645*328.

And we have also tested it on our side with the latest version of Word Current Channel 2112 Build 14729.20260, and the original resolution of the image is 2254*1444, as shown below:

Then we inserted the picture into Word, then set the resolution as 220 ppi as same as yours, then we saved the picture to the local from Word, and it shows the 623*399, as shown below:

Even if we set the resolution to High, however, the same situation still occur.

At the same time, we have also tested it with Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel (Preview) and Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel and we can reproduce the same situation as yours.

Than you for response.
Your understanding problem is correct
I tested with File > Options > Advanced >... before. It does not affect (the default resolution 220 ppi was more than enough)

So

2. All images. For example I create a new docx file and add here (drag a drop) picture (png) with resolution 1901*968.
   This will automatically fit to the width of the page.
   After that I press right button 'Save as Pciture'... And it saves it to disk with resolution 645*328. As I understand it, with the resolution as it is presented on the word page in App.
   If I resize the picture on page (it looks good on page as it is) and repeat 'Save as Picture'.. It saves it with changed resolution (e.g.1082*550) but not original 1901*968.
   In previous version it would be saved in original resolution

Thank you for querying in this forum.

From your description, it seems that you are trying saving images from Word after updating Office, however, you found it has been saved ad low resolution.

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, we have also tested it on our side with the latest version of Word, and we can save it normally.

For the situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

On the one hand, we’d suggest you go to Word > File > Options > Advanced > Under Image Size and Quality, select High fidelity in the Default resolution list. Then you can test again to check if the same problem will occur.

On the other hand, to better understand your situation and narrow down this issue, could you provide the information below?

1. Could you provide the product information and version of Word? You can go to Word > File > Account and provide the screenshot of it.
2. May I know if all images and all files have the same problem?
3. Could you provide the screenshot of images in Word and the local?
