Word will not print page range

I have several users who have reported this issue in the last week. They cannot use the custom print in word for some documents. I have determined that it will work fine until a header or footer is inserted and "Page X of Y" is added. I've recreated this on my workstation with a blank document. I can custom print a page range with a header with no page, or "Page X" and it works fine. If I insert "Page X of Y" the document doesn't reach the printer. We are on version 14228.20250.

We are having similar issues with Microsoft 365 (Current Channel) builds 2107 and 2108.
Simple things like "print page 3" on documents that have been around for ages are no longer working.

This issue has been reported to Microsoft and it is being investigated. See for example https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/custom-print-does-not-work-with-word/58a122bf-6c5e-49e6-a10f-e64b88b88a35.

    Hi Daniel,

Sorry for the delay in the response as I was out of the office due to the weekend.

In this situation, I suggest you report this behavior to the related team via adding the feedback in the Word application which is the best way to report it. Reference: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office? - Office Support

    Thanks,

    Chitrahaas

    Hello Doug,

I can't reproduce the behavior while printing a non-contiguous range or contiguous range.

    Thanks,

    Chitrahaas

I believe that this issue is being investigated by Microsoft. Doug Robbins has reported the issue to the Office team.

Try printing a non-contiguous range of pages, such as 1,3,5
