Hi, I would like to know if the Microsoft 365 Family can be used for a business, or would I need to get a Microsoft 365 business plan? Thank you.

    Hi ImpactStudio

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

No, Microsoft indicate you must use one of the business versions of Office in a business/work environment, you would need to get a business licence or subscription.

With regards to Windows, no such limitation exists.

Hi, Open an App, e.g. Word>File>Account>About Word. You should see your licence for Microsoft 365 Personal (same for Family except 5 other users. Here is an extract :

    Installation and Use Rights; Activation.

**a.    License; Number of Users and Devices Signed In; Other Requirements.**The software is licensed, not sold. Provided that you comply with all the terms of the Agreement, we grant you the right to install and run copies of the software on devices you own and control, and for your personal use, as follows:

            (i)    Office 365 Home. For use by you and five (5) additional members of your household (up to six users total).

(ii)   Office 365 Personal, Office 365 University and Office 365 Solo. For use by you only.  The non-commercial use restriction set forth in the Microsoft Services Agreement does not apply to users of Office 365 Solo.

(iii) Devices Signed In. There may be technical limits on the number of devices that can be signed in by a user concurrently to use the service/software, as described in the help article found at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid='874481.'
