My email appears to be linked to two Microsoft accounts - how do I change this?

Every time I am asked to sign in to my Microsoft account, I am told "it looks like this e-mail is used with more than one microsoft account" and I have to select if it is my personal or my work / school account that I'm signing into. That's not the end of the world, but it's annoying and gives me an uneasy feeling that Microsoft doesn't have a good grasp on my actual account and services.

The e-mail I use is my work e-mail and should only be connected to a work account. I have never used the address or the account for personal stuff. I can't see anywhere on my microsoft account info page if I'm logged into a personal or a work account or how I could change that. How do I find this supposed private account and separate it from my work e-mail, while keeping my work account linked to my work e-mail?

Also, am I supposed to be able to have more than one Onedrive account on the same computer (private and work)? That's more nice-to-know - my main concern is cleaning up my work e-mail so that it is only linked to my proper work account .

Thanks

    Hi Henrik Rosén,

According to this problem, as per my knowledge, you may get rid of the prompt by two ways.

First, you ma rename your personal Microsoft account. You can rename your personal account, which means using a different email address to sign in to it. You can either create a new email address (alias) or set an existing email address to be your primary alias.

Your primary alias appears on devices, such as your Xbox, Surface, and Windows Phone, and is the email address that OneDrive sends from when you share things like photos or documents.

To rename your account, see Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.

Second,  you may try to contact the organization. Where an organization's .com domain name matches that of your personal account, you can contact the other organization to ask them to remove your name from their email lists.

Your personal email address will not be in use or available to anyone in the other organization, but they simply need to "sync their users" to prevent this error from happening.

If you still need help, email the OneDrive support team. Or if you still have any problems about this issue, please come back and tell me, I'll help you at any time.

    Have a nice day!

    Regards,

    Rebecca
