Word keeps crashing every time when it is opened on Mac Monterey

Question

I tried to install Microsoft Office version 16.58 both from the website and App Store several times and keep them up to date using Microsoft AutoUpdate Tool. All other tools such as PowerPoint and Excel work fine. But only Word crashes every time I tried to open it. Does anyone have similar problem recently?

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience the problem caused for you.

sed on your description, when you try to use Word for Mac, it will crash.

Here are some suggestions, and I hope they can help you:

1. Try safe mode to exclude local environment impact. You can launch a safe mode/boot on Mac OS, to check if issue caused by cache or directory issue with startup disk.
2. You can remove folder like ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word(you can press command +shift +G and enter the route to go the folder, move it to desktop, check if the issue is solved, if so, you could move it to trash, if not, restore it).

Upon deleting the folder, Word works fine. On my computer, the folder is called Microsoft Word instead of com.microsfot.Word.
