Why does it say "file is too large for destination" when the destination has more than enough space, and how to fix it?

I brought an Onn 32 gigabyte usb stick from Walmart that I'm using for a place to store program and other thing. The file I'm trying to copy is 4.5gb iso file and the stick has 22gb free. When I try to copy it, I get an error stating that the file is too big for the file destination. This makes absolutely no sense, and I don't know why it's doing this. Is there a cause for this and how do I fix it?

    Thanks for sharing the screenshot.

As expected, the USB stick File System is FAT32 which cannot handle files larger than about 4 GB in size. To fix this issue, you should change the USB stick file system from FAT32 to NTFS.

If you have any data inside your USB stick, back-up them somewhere else. Right-click on the USB stick > Format > Change the File System to NTFS > Format.

After that, check to see if you are able to copy your file into the USB stick or not.

Please keep me posted if you need further assistance.

    Hi Evyn,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

It looks like your USB stick file format is FAT32 rather than NTFS.

Please right-click on the USB Stick > Properties > Take a screenshot and post it back.

the file is too big for the file destination. This makes absolutely no sense

For the destination file system. Which would be FAT32.
