Exporting OneNote notebook as a "OneNote Single File Package" error

Hi, I am not able to export my OneNote notebook as a "OneNote Single File Package". I keep getting this error: "Sorry, we can't create |0. It's possible you don't have the right permissions or enough disk space." I definitely have the disk space and it is my personal file so I should have the right permission. I used to have no problems doing this, but now I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks for the advice.

Hello Stryderis,     Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate that you've taken the time to post your concern here in Microsoft Community Forum. We understand that you’re having trouble exporting a Notebook in OneNote. Let’s check on this together and find ways to address this matter.

    • Can you please provide us a photo of the error message?
    • What troubleshooting steps you've done so far?
    • Can you please provide us a photo of the step by step process of exporting? You may consider uninstalling and reinstalling your OneNote app. If you're using OneNote 2016 you can reinstall it from here after uninstalling: Install or reinstall OneNote for Windows.

Note: Please make sure that all of your Notebooks are synced online to avoid any data loss. You can access your Notebooks online by going into www.onenote.comand sign in with your account.

We look forward to your response on the results. If you have other clarifications about this matter, you can get back to us by replying to this post.

    Thanks so much.

    Here is the error message:

    Here is how I export:

What have I done so far:

    • Re-installed Office
    • Installed all recent Office updates
    • Signed out and back into my Microsoft/Office account
    • Tried to save the export to different folders and different computers
    • Confirmed that I have permission to the files

    Thanks again,

    David

    What is that ?

The 1st character is not allowed in Windows file names.

    Hello Stryderis,

Thank you for your swift response.

It seems that you're on a Windows 11 version right now. Have you reinstall OneNote from the link I have provided?

To better isolate the issue can you please create a new Windows user profile and try to export notebooks from there? Please give it a try because there's a possibility that your Windows profile is corrupted due to a Windows upgrade.

I am not sure. OneNote substituted "|0" in for the actual file name in the error message. It does the exact same thing for all my Notebooks. All of the Notebooks have regular characters and numbers and no symbols.
