accidentally deleted a file, not in recycle bin and restoring doesn't work either.

I accidentally deleted a file. I wanted to deleted the file above but I missclicked. when I went to look in the recycle bin it said it was empty, as well as the secondaire recycle bin. I tried to restore it but that didn't work either. I saw that the action of deleting the file was noted down in the list so I hoped it would work. when it was finished I looked and only saw a restore log. in there was written that my file ( as well as the one I ment to delete ) could not be found in the recycle bin.

The only thing I did was click on the three dots on the file and hit delete. I haven't cleared the recycle bin so there is no reason why it shouldn't be in there. is there any way to get my file back?

    Hi Jordi!

I'm Jen, and I'd be happy to help you out with this issue.

Have you created a backup of your files to a Drive before they have been deleted from your phone? If so, then try restoring those backed up data.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'd be glad to assist you further.

    Best Regards!

    Jen :)

    Hi Jen,

No I have not made a backup. I used the automatic save function of excel to store it to my onedrive. The steps i took which I explained earlier where all on my onedrive. I have also looked in my laptop and my phone storage but also no luck there.

Nevertheless thank you for your suggestion.

    Best regards,

    Jordi

    Hi Jordi,

Try to restore Onedrive to a previous time. Files Restore helps Office 365 subscribers undo all the actions that occurred on both files and folders within the last 30 days. Kindly refer to this article for more information. Hope this helps.

    Hi Jen,

I tried that but it didn't work. I did see that my file was deleted in the activity feed. But once restored I get a restorelog which says it can't find my file in the recycle bin.

    Best regards
