I'm currently seeing this problem across all our workstations on various office versions (2016, 2019, 2021).

Same problem when trying to change a watermark:

The office versions are all up to date and there have been no changes in our environment.

Is anyone else seeing this atm?

It seems to me the error regarding inserting online pictures has been okay since October 22th.

Microsoft must have fixed something.

To be extra sure I have now tested this on my home PC and the same problem occurs. Only when trying to set a watermark though, not with the online pictures option (I suspect this is because I use Office 2021, I noticed that the problem occurs with both Online Pictures and custom watermarks in 2016 and possibly 2019 but only with the watermark setting in 2021). Either way, this seems to be a general problem, I would appreciate if someone else can test this on their end.

What about the other settings under "Your Privacy Matters"? Specifically, are "Experiences that download online content" and "All connected experiences" selected?

Are the so-called connected experiences enabled in Trust Center (for recent versions of Office)? These are required for Office to access the internet.

Note that if the error message affects only certain online images, this is a known issue in Word/Office or maybe with the Bing servers. Occasionally, an image that I select for download simply isn't found.

Or does the error occur with both online and local images (referring to your first screen shot, "Dieses Gerät" should mean "This Device," if I am not mistaken)?

    Yes, connected experiences are enabled:

The error message appears immediately after clicking "Online images...", not after selecting one image.

The error does not occur when selecting "This device" (= Dieses Gerät).
