Hi all.

When downloading a large number of files OneDrive, the system hangs and reboots on Mac OS.

It doesn't happen often. Only when a lot of small files are downloaded. Reinstalling OneDrive doesn't help.

Generally, downloading the 400 MB size of the content shouldn't cause any problem and if the problem happens even after launching your Mac in the Safe Mode, I suggest you narrow down the behavior by creating a new user account on the problematic Mac.

The Mac isn't what's "problematic". Problematic is how poorly Microsoft codes its software, and that it doesn't have any testing before publishing. I've had the same problem twice in the less than a week I've had my Mac Studio, both times Onedrive caused a Kernel Panic, specifically the file 'user/501/com.apple.xpc.launchd.unmanaged.OneDrive File P.912'

How about you fix your flaky software instead of asking users to install another version or boot in safe mode, which does nothing to fix your buggy software?

It's not MacOS - the moment I killed OneDrive the issues stopped.
And I don't see any reports of this happening with Dropbox or other users of the fileprovider extensions.
Microsoft - you have nearly unlimited development and testing resources.

Stop being so incompetent. Stop abusing your paying customers.

The software versions are the same. What is the difference between App Store and Standalone?

For me "processing changes" hangs up for sometimes hours (spinning beachball) , then it actually starts the downloading process. However, I am four weeks into that now & it still hasn't finished. I can't even move to another cloud provider, because OneDrive deleted all my local files without asking in a previous "update"
