Mail Merge Email Address to text

I use access for data with Microsoft Word mail merge for a lot of standard documents. I have several where the field is an email, but I want it to insert in the document as a plain text field (just write out the email address). After merging, it populates as @email.com#mailto:@email.com#. How can I get the field to format where I do not have to delete the additional wording?

    Dear AGreer,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Per the description shared, I understand the concern facing at your end ie., when merging the Word document as a Plain Text, the fields with the email address is showing the mail to address as well.

If my understanding is correct, I have test the behavior at my end where I can't reproduce the behavior when merging the document as a Plain Text. So, I would like to request you to share the screenshots of the fields in the data source connected to the Word document and screenshot of the inserted fields in the document.

In addition, if you send an email as HTML, do you also have the same problem?

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator

In Access, change the type of the field that contains the email addresses from Hyperlink to Short Text. You will receive a warning about data possibly being lost because of the change of field type, but that is just a generic message and you should not lose any data.

Thanks. I did know I could do it that way, but I was hoping there was a way without touching the database. It has a lot of information in it and often corrupts. When that happens, our IT team has to restore a previously saved version from the server, and we lose the latest records/data entered. I try not to touch the formulas on it if not absolutely necessary.
