Hello,

When I try to share a folder / files in SharePoint with the 'Copy Link' option and select 'Anyone with the link', users with the link are still required to login (and have access rights).

Error message (using a incognito / inPrivate browser window):

I configured the following settings:

Policies -> Sharing:

Site Sharing policies:

Any suggestions what the problem might be? Thanks in advance!

    Dear Joey2at,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, it seems that you are trying to share folder with 'Anyone with the link', however, users with the link are still required to login (and have access rights).

If my understanding is right, we'd recommend you navigate to Admin center > SharePoint Admin center > Policies > Sharing to check if the option" Guest must sign in using the same account to which sharing invitations are sent" is ticked. If yes, please uncheck the option and check the outcome.

And then user with copied link can access without login as shown below:

We've also found a similar thread for your reference:

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that. At the same time, to better understand your situation, could you also provide the information below?

    1. May I know if the other colleagues have the same problem?
    2. May I know if issue will occur on the other sites?

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Rhoda | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi Rhoda,

Thank you, this seems to be the solution!
