Office Outlook keeps crashing in RDS environment

Office Outlook keeps crashing in the terminal server with RDS on Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition. Running Microsoft Office 365 for Business (currently running the latest update and build version available to the public). All applications are installed locally, shared to all users who RDP to this server.

Hi, I have a user having a lot of troubles with the outlook of the RDS environment.

They have several add-ins applications at the moment who have no issues running in this environment but the outlook completely crashes when they open our add-ins application.

any ideas about this problem?

Did this issue occur on your RDS environmrnt only? And could it be reproduced if you working with same version of Outlook in Windows?

I noticed that the issue occurred when you open the add-ins only, is it right? If so, as I know, some third-party add-ins do cause some crashing issues on Outlook client, for more information, please refer to the section on Investigate possible issues caused by add-ins of this document : Outlook crashes or stops responding when used with Office 365.

So, if you could work normally in safe mode or when you don't working with the add-ins, the issue may be related to your add-ins itself. Due to I couldn't test with same add-ins and there may be any compatibility issues between third-party add-in and the outlook client, in this case, it's recommended to diable this add-in in Outlook.

Hi yes, this only happens in the RDS environment, we have many clients who use different versions of outlook, and no one reported such an issue. I also requested the outlook installer from them, but it works on my station, I think it's just because of their RDS environment. I requested that they scan the outlook using the “SaRA” app and for now I’m just waiting for the result.

Thanks for your update, due to your add-in could work normally with same version of Outlook in your cleint, looks like your issue may be related to these RDS clients instead of Outlook version.

Have they scaned those clients via SaRA tools? If the issue still exists, I think we could also checked if there are any other differences between those clients and others(such as detailed OS version, whether installed any other third-party tools and add-ins etc.)
