    Dear SharePoint Developer,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, it seems that you cannot download a Folder from MS SharePoint Document Library.

If the understanding above is right, we've also done a quick test and we can download the folder as a zip file on our side, below attached is the screenshot of our test for your reference:

Given this situation, we'd recommend you check if proper permission has been assigned to you in the SharePoint Document Library for that folder. To check permission, please navigate to SharePoint site > Document Library > the folder > 3 dots > Manage access > Advanced > Check Permissions to search for the user account and check.

It is also recommended to select the folder or go up one level in the folder directory and come back, or close that tab in your browser and navigate to the folder again as per the official article.

If the issue persists, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it. To further narrow down this issue, may I know the following information at your convenience?

    1. Would you please share screenshots of "unable to download a Folder from MS SharePoint Document Library" with us?
    2. Is there any error message prompting? If yes, would you please share a screenshot with us?
    3. Does this problem occur in all your SharePoint document libraries or this particular SharePoint Document library?
    4. Please also try to create a new document library and see whether the same issue happened.
    5. Are you able to download the individual file in document library by clicking “Download button”?
    6. How about the other members in your organization? Do they encounter a similar situation in SharePoint?

In addition, we'd recommend you try to use OneDrive sync application to sync the document library to your computer. If OneDrive sync application and sync and download your library contents without any issue, you may consider use OneDrive sync application as a tempory workaround to document multiple files or folders.

For your information: Sync SharePoint and Teams files with the OneDrive sync app

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation. Stay safe and stay healthy.

    Sincerely,

    Rhoda | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Dear Rhoda Zhong

Thanks for your prompt response. I have full permission to the doc library and the folders. I am the site collection administrator too. I am still unable to see the download button for Folders. This issue is happening in SharePoint On premise Classic View as well as Modern Experience & issue in SP Online Classic View too.

Please find the snap below [ No download option]

    Dear SharePoint Developer,

Thanks for sharing updates and confirming the scenario with us.

As you mentioned that issue is happening in SharePoint On-prem Classic UI as well as Modern UI and issue in SP Online Classic View too, this issue may be related to server side that may need to be checked from background.

The best way to troubleshoot the issue is to report the issue to the related Team. We’d suggest you contact your office 365 administrator to go to Office 365 Admin Center-> Support-> New Service Request, the support engineers there have the correct escalation channel and this is the most efficient way to report such issue. You can refer to this article to check the way how to raise a ticket. Ways to contact support for business products - Admin help. The engineers in related team have higher permission and resources than us, and they may help collect log remotely and check it from background directly.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. We hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Rhoda
