As per your description, it seems that you want to create a discussion board on you SharePoint site to allow colleagues in organization/company an opportunity to post and respond conversations workplace.
In your SharePoint site, based on my test there is two way.
One there is built- in Discussion Board app (list), you may try adding the Discussion Board app via go to site content> click on setting>Add an app to the site can join the discussion.
And the other using Yammer Conversations web part.
You can add Yammer Conversations web part in your SharePoint modern page, please follow the step:
1.Access your SharePoint online site page.
2.Edit page and add Yammer Conversations web part
3.Edit the Yammer Conversations web part, under the "Select conversation source" section, please check "Home Feed" option.
