Restore Deleted Macros and the Use of PERSONAL Macros

In Excel, I tried to delete a macro I created, but messed up on. It gave me an error saying I had to unhide the workbook. I did something (can't remember what) and then it worked. However, when I deleted 1 of my 5 macros, it deleted all of them. It also disabled my ability to use or see or even create new macros in "Person View."

How do I get my macros back and restore my PERSONAL.XLSB macros?

Hi Michelle C!

It's possible that when you deleted the macro, you accidentally deleted the entire module that contained all of your macros. This would explain why all of your macros disappeared.

To restore your macros, you can try the following steps: * Open a new Excel workbook. * Press ALT + F11 to open the VBA Editor. * In the VBA Editor, go to File > Import File. * Browse to the location of your "PERSONAL. XLSB" file (usually located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart), and select it. * In the "Import File" dialog box, select the "Module" option, and click OK. * In the "Import" dialog box, make sure that the "Module1" option is selected, and click OK. Your macros should now be restored.

If this doesn't work, you can try restoring a backup copy of your "PERSONAL. XLSB" file. To do this, you can try the following steps: * Close Excel. * Go to the location of your "PERSONAL. XLSB" file (usually located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart). * Look for a backup copy of the file, which should have a similar name but with a different extension (e.g., "PERSONAL. XLSB.bak"). * Rename the backup file to "PERSONAL. XLSB". * Open Excel and your macros should now be restored.

If neither of these solutions works, you may need to recreate your macros from scratch.

Best Regards, Shakiru
