I want to create an ebook using Microsoft Designer. Can projects I create in Microsoft Designer be published and sold? Are the images, clip art, etc. free to use for distribution and sale? I'm not sure about the copyright rules Microsoft has with this app. Thanks for any help and advice!

Here are the terms concerning images you create with Designer: https://designer.microsoft.com/termsOfUse.pdf. Notice, in particular, this statement: "Use of Images. Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and the Microsoft Services Agreement, including the Code of Conduct, you may use Creations for any legal purpose."

Hi, I'm a senior, and I'm confused! First of all it's a lot of fine print for old eyes. So I hope you can help me out. I wanted to use some of the designs I have made to create and sell t-shirts. At one point it says you can't use them, another point it says consultant lawyer, and in another point it says you can use them for any legal use

. A simple yes or no would be very handy! Can I sell T-shirts that have designs on them that I got from Microsoft, as long as I realize that they can basically take any of these designs themselves.? Thank you so much

However, that is true if you follow the terms in other parts of the agreement, including the following:

    1. Applicable Terms.

    (b) You agree that your use of Designer is for personal use only and not for

use in the course of trade or commerce.

It seems to me if you are using Designer to illustrate a book cover being sold commercially, it would potentially violate this term.

I'd say... you are not selling the design of the book, you are selling the book. The designs are meant for increasing its attractiveness or being descriptive tools for your words.

Honestly, I don't understand how law shows the right ear with the left hand, but, I'd say the perspective I presented above is a logic that shouldn't be overlooked.
