Not sure what @taiwo30 was looking at but you can't set permissions on a view. When we need this on a list we enable folder creation, put list items in appropriate folder and then apply permissions to the folders. Site admins can see everything in a folderless view, limited users can only see what we want them to in uniquely permissioned folders. Maybe you can adapt that approach.
How to give permission for only viewing a SharePoint list's view?
I have a sharepoint list with 10 fields which is the default view. I have created a view ( public view) of this list using 5 fields. I would like to create a permission ( read or visitor Permission does not work) to allow user come to the site and view only the public view without allowing them to view the default view.
Is it possible to give permission only to a particular view in sharepoint?

2023-11-09T17:15:25+00:00 Not sure if this has been marked as "resolved" but I was looking to try and get this similar thing done for a subsite list I made. My view had it within the list settings->Permissions for this list (should be in the middle top of the screen under a Permissions and Management center aligned column)-> and then in the top left banner of permissions (should already be expanded) there is a button to "stop inheriting from parent" which will make that list have unique perms. After which you can add specific people as you like without allowing for any other "role" permissions to affect it.

2023-03-21T19:13:51+00:00 Hi Taiwo30,
Thank you for your prompt response!
I tried to follow your steps but in my office 365 sharepoint site> Setting> List setting> Views page does not have any permission option at the end of the page that you mentioned.
But from Sharepoint Site >Setting > List setting>Permissions for this list > I have already stopped inheriting permissions for this list.
But I am not able to customize the permission of my view- "public view".
Can you please show me where I can locate the permission option for the list views?

I'm Taiwo and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, We are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.
Yes, it is possible to give permission to a particular view in SharePoint, I would suggest you follow the steps below.
Go to the list where you want to create the view permissions and click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page and select List settings for the list you want the public to view and how you want them to view it.
-Scroll down to the Views section and click on the view you want to set up permission for
- while In the view settings page, click on the Permissions for this view link located at the end of the page -Click on the Stop Inheriting Permissions button to break the permissions from the parent list which allows freedom of use for each.
Now you can now add or remove users or groups and assign them the desired permission level. For example, you can assign Read permission to a user or group, which will allow them to view the selected view but not the default view.
-Then click OK to save the changes.
I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.
Best Regards, Thank You.

Here are a few careful steps to locate the permission option for the list views -Go to your SharePoint site and navigate to the list for which you want to manage permissions like earlier -Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page to open the settings menu -In the settings menu, click on List settings -Under the Permissions and Management section, click on Permissions for this list -which will take you to the Permissions page for the list. Now you can manage the permissions for the list views by clicking on the List Views group on the page. -Click on the Permissions button in the List Views group to manage the permissions for the list views.
I hope this helps ;-), and also we are Microsoft users like you. I don't work for Microsoft and do not have access to any of your data on their system.
