How to separate work and Personal accounts on at home PC, while using work's office subscription.

So I have an at home PC that i work remotely on sometimes. Before this Job, I already had the PC and had a Microsoft subscription through school. Well now that I'm out of school, that subscription is revoked, and I had to buy Office professional. Well I didn't do my due diligence and research what I actually needed to do. So now my PC has one account, using an Office pro ( or whatever one that doesn't allow me to access outlook.) what I am looking to do is have two profiles I can log on to on boot. One for work with my work Microsoft account using the apps like project word excel outlook etc. and another personal account that would save under my personal Microsoft account.

    Hello,

I am Ibhadighi and I would happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

You can achieve separation between your work and personal accounts on your home PC by creating separate user profiles or accounts on your Windows operating system. Here's how you can set this up:

    1. Create a New User Profile: • Go to your PC's "Settings" by pressing the Windows key and then clicking on the gear icon, or search for "Settings" in the Windows search bar. • In the Settings window, select "Accounts." • Under the "Family & other users" section, click on "Add someone else to this PC." • Choose "I don't have this person's sign-in information." • Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account." • Create a new local user account with a unique username and password. This will be your personal account.
    2. Switch Between User Profiles: • After creating the new user profile, you can switch between the profiles when you start or restart your PC. • When you start your PC, you'll see a list of user profiles. Select the one you want to use for work or personal tasks.
    3. Configure Office Apps for Each Profile: • Once you're logged in, you can set up your Office apps separately for each user profile. • For your work profile, sign in with your work Microsoft account in the Office apps to access work-related documents and services. • For your personal profile, you can use your personal Microsoft account or any other email provider for personal tasks.
    4. Separate Data and Files: • Make sure to save your work-related files and data in the user profile associated with your work account, and your personal files in your personal user profile. • This will help keep your work and personal data separate and organized.

This way, you'll have distinct user profiles for your work and personal activities, allowing you to easily switch between them while keeping your Office applications and data separated. Remember to keep your work and personal login credentials secure and use strong, unique passwords for each account to maintain privacy and security.

    Best Regards, IBHADIGHI

Jeff, you will have problems in any case as Office Professional Plus 2021 is does not have a legitimate licence, because Pro Plus versions of Office are volume based and sold on the internet in contravention of the Microsoft licence. Note: there is no Plus, that should give a clue, and second Office Professional 2021 without the Plus cost $400 or £400 and you paid about $30/40 £30/40 that is your second clue. The third clue will be when it stops working.
