Visio Professional is freezing when scrolling, a crosshair is appearing on the white arrow cursor and now it will not let me pull a wall onto my map, can anyone help? I can pull other shapes just not the wall.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled office/Visio.

    Hello KV#77,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

    1. Check for Updates: Make sure that you have the latest updates and patches installed for both Microsoft Office and Visio. Updates can address performance and compatibility issues.
    2. Hardware Acceleration: You can try disabling hardware acceleration in Visio to see if it resolves the freezing issue: a. Open Visio. b. Click on "File" > "Options." c. In the Visio Options dialog, go to "Advanced." d. Under the "Display" section, uncheck "Disable hardware graphics acceleration." e. Click "OK" and restart Visio.
    3. Graphics Driver Update: Ensure that your graphics card driver is up to date. Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause graphical glitches and performance problems.
    4. Check for Conflicting Software: Some third-party software or add-ins can interfere with Visio's operation. Try running Visio in safe mode, which disables add-ins: a. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog. b. Type "visio /safe" (without quotes) and press Enter. This will launch Visio without any add-ins.
    5. Repair Office Installation: You've already reinstalled Office and Visio, but you can also try repairing the installation: a. Go to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Programs and Features." b. Find Microsoft Office in the list, select it, and choose "Change" or "Repair" (the exact wording may vary depending on your Office version).
    6. User Profile: Sometimes, issues can be related to your user profile. Create a new Windows user profile and see if the issue persists when using Visio under the new profile.
    7. Check System Requirements: Ensure that your computer meets the system requirements for running Visio Professional. Visio may not function properly on older or underpowered hardware.

    Best Regards, Shalom
